Kathleen Beckham Ground Work Clinic

October 4, 2025

The Partnership You Want Starts on the Ground

Build a safer, clearer, more connected relationship with your horse—beginning with how you handle him every single day.

Every moment you spend on the ground with your horse is either building connection or unraveling it.

Whether you realize it or not, the way you halter, lead, groom, or ask him to move tells him exactly what kind of relationship the two of you have. And if those daily habits aren’t clear, consistent, and fair… it shows up everywhere else: under saddle, in new environments, and especially when things get hard.

This one-day clinic with Kathleen Beckham is designed to help you slow down, take stock, and rebuild from the ground up. You’ll learn how to create a mutual understanding rooted in clarity, respect, and trust, without gimmicks, quick fixes, or fluff.

Kathleen’s foundation-first approach will help you see where your horse is confused, disconnected, or checked out, and more importantly, how to fix it. You’ll leave with practical tools, a renewed sense of confidence, and a better understanding of how your groundwork is shaping your horse’s entire experience with you.

This is not just about drills or exercises. It’s about the relationship you’re building every time you pick up a lead rope. Let’s make it one worth having.

What Previous Students Have To Say

"Kathleen is patient, aware, intuitive, and open-minded. She is honest and dedicated to getting this horse-stuff right. She challenges herself and all of the people she works with to do right by the horse while, safely, pushing people beyond their comfort zone. Kathleen finds the good and the try, and cultivates that in all horses and horsemen. "

- David

"Kathleen is a role model, mentor, teacher, and friend. She is the horseman I desire to emulate as she is always advancing her horsemanship skills, always learning, always working to be better tomorrow than she is today...

As an instructor Kathleen is clear and concise with her how-to directions and explanations why. She is able to reword directions as needed to help her student's comprehension.

I trust her. I know she will stretch me and put me in the learning place but she has my safety and growth as her focus."

~ Val

"If you have a chance to work with Kathleen, I highly recommend you take advantage! Kathleen is a knowledgable, patient trainer and clear communicator. I was so fortunate to spend five days with her and her lovely horses on the farm in Georgia. I learned so much and the days went by all too quickly."
